Cesc Fabregas is the pass-master of Europe – and that’s official. The Arsenal skipper has been recognised as the player who conjures up the most strikes on goal in the top five Euro leagues, according to Opta.
They say super Cesc has created a chance from open play every 29 minutes, the best rate of any playmaker out there.
It comes as no surprise to us Gooners who have watched his sublime skills in threading through chances for Theo, AA23, RVP et al. And, rightly so, Cesc is happy to have the accolade – probably particulalry special to him given the amount of ability within the Barca ranks.
He posted a message on his Twitter account to tell fans of his thoughts. He tweeted: “Very proud to be the player that creates most chances in open play in europe. Without my team mates it’d be impossible. Hope more to come!”
A few tomorrow night against Tony Pulis and Stoke would be nice, Cesc! On that point, I have a few spare tickets for the game at the Ems – face value – and even a pair together.
STOP PRESS: Jack Wilshere is desperate to win and keep up the pressure on United at the top of the table. He has just tweeted:”Whats happening tweeps….big game tomorrow. 3 points please boys! Nothing more nothing less! Thank you.”
