Christos Tzolis has officially joined Arsenal.
After weeks of speculation, the Premier League champions announced on Thursday that they have signed the Club Brugge star on a long-term deal.
Tzolis’ direct style of play, ability to create and score goals, and play in multiple positions are his biggest strengths, and Arsenal fans all know it by now.
What many may not know, however, is his injury record. It’s fantastic.
Who does Christos Tzolis remind you of? Is he anything like Arsenal star Bukayo Saka?
Availability is a player’s biggest trait, and Christos Tzolis’ injury record proves it
There are many footballers in the world who possess world-class ability, but they just cannot stay fit.
Arsenal have had a few examples of that in the past, namely Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere among others, while there are a few players in the current squad as well.
The Gunners’ injury list was among the worst in Europe last season, so the last thing they would’ve wanted to do was sign players who are injury-prone.
That must have been a factor behind Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta’s decision to sign Christos Tzolis.

The Greek international has rarely had injury issues over the last few years while he was starring for Club Brugge in Belgium.
In fact, in the last two seasons, Tzolis has missed just two games due to injury. In his entire senior career for club and country, in which he has played over 275 times, he has missed just 15 fixtures.
That is an incredible record, one Arsenal will be hoping remains the same as he embarks on a new journey in the famous red and white.
If he stays fit throughout, we have a feeling he will become a star for Arsenal.
How many goals and assists will Christos Tzolis end his debut season at Arsenal with?
He scored 22 goals and provided 29 assists last season👀
Christos Tzolis’ mentality will be put to the test at Arsenal
Tzolis clearly has the talent and ability to play for Arsenal, but does he have the mentality?
If the Gunners’ plan of signing another high-profile winger comes to fruition, the Greek star will start the season as the second choice.
There could easily be a spell of games where Tzolis may not even get on the pitch due to game states and other reasons – Eberechi Eze experienced that last season.
If Tzolis can handle that side of the game and still deliver for Arsenal when called upon, he will show everyone that he belongs at the highest level.
That is the mentality Arsenal need from every player.
