Bukayo Saka’s Euro 2021 penalty miss should inspire Ethan Nwaneri

Bukayo Saka’s Euro 2021 penalty miss was a moment many will want to erase from their minds, but for Ethan Nwaneri, it was the perfect lesson on how to respond to a dark moment.

Things became even worse for the teenager on Wednesday following his penalty miss during Marseille’s shootout defeat to Toulouse.

French media slammed Nwaneri’s performance off the bench in the Coupe de France quarter-finals, especially after his penalty miss.

Back in 2021, Saka endured one of the toughest moments of his very early career after missing the final spot kick against Italy at Wembley Stadium.

However, rather than letting it eat him up, the Arsenal superstar used it as a springboard to really kick-start his career, and now Nwaneri must try to do the same.

With ex-Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club, Nwaneri has good support, but it would be nice to see someone like Saka reach out to him.

It will have been a very tough moment for the teenager, but perhaps it could be the turning point for his time in France.
