Forgotten £34m Arsenal star can change everything for Arteta, he’s ready to explode

There’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side have suffered in the last few weeks, and many think a January addition could be the answer.

Many fans are calling for Arsenal to recruit a striker this month, with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen two names often mentioned.

However, Arsenal simply don’t have the money for either move – they are said to be hamstrung by their FFP restrictions.

So with that in mind, Arteta may have to look for an internal answer to Arsenal’s struggles, and it may already exist.

Although currently recovering from groin surgery in November, Arteta hopes to have Fabio Vieira fit by the end of the month.

And when the Portuguese midfielder is fully ready, he could make a huge difference to this Arsenal side.

We certainly haven’t seen the best of Vieira in an Arsenal shirt just yet, but some of his cameos have demonstrated his rich ability.

Signing for £34m, Vieira really does have the potential to be one of the league’s best, and Arteta needs to give him the opportunity to show it.

Fabio Vieira could be the answer to Mikel Arteta’s goal-scoring issues at Arsenal

Vieira is very unlikely to ever be a consistent goal-scorer for Arsenal, it’s not the strongest part of this game.

But if Arsenal are able to get the midfielder into the same side as Martin Odegaard, perhaps with Declan Rice behind them, they would have huge creativity.

That being said, Arteta clearly hasn’t seen enough application from Vieira just yet in order to give him that extended chance.

Both Edu and Arteta seemed convinced of the former Porto midfielder’s talent when they signed him – an opportunity they thought was too good to turn down.

And perhaps in a similar vein to Kai Havertz’s situation, Arteta is still learning how best to unlock his talent.

Yes, a prolific striker would be very welcome at Arsenal in January, but Arteta has so much talent in his squad already, there’s definitely an answer to the issues already there.

And perhaps this training camp in Dubai could prove a timely reset for the squad, who are definitely not out of the title-race just yet.

It could take months, it could take a year, but Vieira will eventually fulfil his promise at Arsenal – his talent is too strong not to.

And speaking of talent, Arsenal fans should probably rethink their conclusions towards one player.
