Gabriel Jesus is working hard to return to full fitness at Arsenal.

The Brazil international suffered a serious knee injury back in January during a game against Manchester United in the FA Cup. He had to undergo surgery on that knee and has been out of action since.

Jesus is closing in on a comeback to full training, and he has looked good in the videos the Gunners’ media team have released.

We’re sure the 28-year-old can’t wait to play for Arsenal again, and one fixture must be on his mind already – the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace.

Gabriel Jesus will be licking his lips about Arsenal’s Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace

Arsenal secured a well-deserved 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, despite making 10 changes for the game

Goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka sealed the win, and they have now been drawn against Crystal Palace in the quarter-final.

That will not be an easy fixture by any means, but Gabriel Jesus must be desperate to play in that game after what happened last season.

Arsenal and Palace met at the same stage of the competition in the 2024/25 campaign, and Jesus, who was written off by many fans, scored a stunning hat-trick to help the Gunners win 3-2.

Then, just a few days later, the Brazilian scored twice against the Eagles in the Premier League, making it five goals in a week.

The clash against Palace in the Carabao Cup this season is expected to be scheduled at some stage in December. Jesus should be back in action by then.

We are convinced that the former Manchester City man will be gunning to start that game.

Gabriel Jesus will need to prove himself in the domestic cups

Jesus is nowhere near the top of Arsenal’s pecking order.

The former Palmeiras man is behind Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and even Mikel Merino at the moment.

The chances of Jesus getting decent minutes in the Premier League and the Champions League are very slim, so he will have to depend on the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup for game time.

That is where he will have to prove himself to get back into Arteta’s plans for the second half of the season.
