Arsenal have agreed to sell Leandro Trossard this summer.

The Gunners are expected to be active with both incomings and outgoings, and Andrea Berta has been working on player sales for months.

The first major exit is set to be Trossard as Arsenal and Besiktas have struck a deal for his permanent transfer in this window.

That confirms what Arsenal fans have been begging for well over a year now will happen.

Leandro Trossard’s imminent sale confirms Arsenal will sign a new left winger

Arsenal have been in need of a world-class left-winger for about two years now.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are both exceptional on their day, but neither player has been consistent throughout the season in any of the last few campaigns.

Last summer, Arsenal were linked with several top-class left wingers, but they didn’t sign any because they couldn’t sell either Trossard or Martinelli.

Now, with a deal struck to let the Belgian go, Arsenal signing a new left winger is nearly a certainty.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta will know that they cannot go into the new season with just Martinelli as their recognised option in that role.

There must already be work going on behind the scenes for a new left winger, with players like Morgan Rogers and Bradley Barcola both said to be keen to join Arsenal.

If Berta wasn’t confident of signing a new player in that role, there is no way Besiktas’ offer would’ve been accepted.

That convinces us that a new left-winger will arrive this summer, unlike the last two years.

If Leandro Trossard isn’t Arsenal’s most clutch player, who is? 🤔

Leandro Trossard will leave Arsenal a hero

Trossard has his flaws, but he is arguably the best value-for-money signing Arsenal have made under Arteta.

The Belgian has produced several massive moments in the famous red and white to help the Gunners win difficult games.

Even his last goal – against West Ham at the London Stadium – will go down in history because that essentially won Arsenal the Premier League title.

Trossard will leave Arsenal a cult hero, and his contributions will be remembered by the fans for a long, long time.

Whoever replaces him will have to have the ability to score big goals as he did.
