Yan Diomande has been linked with several top clubs across Europe, including Arsenal and Liverpool.
The RB Leipzig teenager is one of the most impressive players in the Bundesliga, and many feel he is destined to be a superstar.
Arsenal eyeing a move to sign Diomande made a lot of sense because of his directness, but it’s Liverpool who have made the first move.
The Gunners are right not to join the race for Diomande.
Watch this video and tell us: Should Arsenal sign Yan Diomande?
Arsenal not joining Liverpool in talks for Yan Diomande is a smart decision
Liverpool are in desperate need of a new winger this summer.
The Reds, who have just sacked Arne Slot and replaced him with Andoni Iraola, will be without Mohamed Salah next season.
The Egyptian has carried them for years, and he has left behind massive shoes to fill. The Merseysiders are looking at options, and it looks like Yan Diomande is their main target.
The Athletic have revealed that Liverpool have opened talks to sign the talented teenager and are currently in the strongest position with the player to get him.
Arsenal have also been linked with Diomande, but there is no movement from the Gunners on that front.

The reason for that feels very simple to understand.
The report claims that RB Leipzig have made it clear that he is not for sale and have suggested that it would take a bid in excess of €130 million (£112.4m) to change that stance.
It has further been claimed that the absolute minimum Diomande would cost is £85 million, which is still a lot of money.
That is perhaps the reason why Arsenal are not challenging Liverpool for his signature. They can sign much more accomplished players for that kind of money.
Diomande has had just one good season, and paying so much for him would be a massive gamble.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Arsenal seem to have learned their lesson after signing Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal signed Nicolas Pepe for £72 million in the summer of 2019, which was a club record fee at the time.
The Ivorian was nowhere near as bad as people made him out to be, but he definitely didn’t repay the massive money Arsenal spent on him.
Diomande’s numbers last season are not even as good as Pepe’s were in his final season at Lille, so paying something like £85 million would be a huge risk.
In our opinion, that is why Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta have not made a move, and that is the smart decision.
