The form of Kylian Mbappe at PSG could hand Arsenal a chance to sign Goncalo Ramos.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a new attacker. The north London club have been linked with a host of big name forwards, including PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.
However, the Frenchman’s PSG teammate Goncalo Ramos may well represent a more realistic target for the Gunners to pursue.
PSG signed Ramos on a season-long loan deal in the recent summer transfer window, with an option to retain his services on a permanent basis for a fee of around £70 million. In November, the Ligue 1 giants activated that clause, as reported by Goal.
However, Ramos has hardly set the world alight at the Parc des Princes. According to L’Equipe, Ramos has now been made available for transfer again already. It would seem that PSG are willing to cut their losses on the £105,000-per-week forward mere months after signing him on a permanent deal.
Part of the reason for Ramos’ struggles in Ligue 1 has been the form of the aforementioned Mbappe. With the 25-year-old ripping it up with a return of 26 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, it is hard for the Portuguese ace to get much of a look in.
Due to the Mbappe situation, and his talismanic status in Paris, the 22-year-old former Benfica striker has been restricted to just 13 top flight appearances this season, and he has only netted 3 times in Ligue 1.

Arsenal must take chance to strike Goncalo Ramos deal
With Ramos unsettled at PSG, Mikel Arteta must take this opportunity to try and tempt the player to Arsenal. Despite his struggles in France, the 10-cap Portugal international is a huge talent with masses of potential. He is an excellent finisher, technically gifted, and offers a strong physical presence at the top end of the pitch.
Arsenal are in dire need of an elite-level goalscorer. Gabriel Jesus has admitted that providing such end product is not his greatest strength, and has managed just 3 Premier League strikes so far this season, coming under fire for his wastefulness in front of goal. Eddie Nketiah is also not of the required standard to fire the club to a Premier League title triumph.
Ramos has the capacity to be the prolific figure that Arsenal need spearheading their attack. The club must act now whilst the player is unsettled at PSG to try to strike a deal.
