Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a few tough decisions to make ahead of his side’s game against Chelsea.

It’s a battle between the teams who are first and second in the Premier League table, and a win for either side will be massive.

Any team Arteta sets out is capable of getting all three points against Chelsea, but the Spaniard risks upsetting one of two players with his selection decision on Sunday – Cristhian Mosquera or Piero Hincapie.

Cristhian Mosquera or Piero Hincapie will be left upset when Arsenal face Chelsea

Mosquera and Hincapie were both incredible in their last appearance for Arsenal.

Gabriel Magalhaes is out injured at the moment, and he is not expected to be back in action before the end of this year.

Against Tottenham in the North London Derby, Hincapie started next to William Saliba, and he was absolutely incredible.

Then, when Bayern Munich came to the Emirates, Arteta dropped Hincapie to manage his load, and Mosquera started instead. He was outstanding too.

Now, with the derby against Chelsea coming up, Arteta will have to make a decision. Saliba is guaranteed to start, so there’s just one spot up for grabs for the two other defenders.

Neither Mosquera nor Hincapie deserves to lose their place after their performances in their previous game, but one of them will have to settle for a spot on the Arsenal bench.

That would be really unfair, and whoever misses out has every reason to be upset. But Arteta has no choice either.

Piero Hincapie would be the better option for Arsenal against Chelsea

Mosquera was superb against Bayern Munich and doesn’t deserve to lose his place. But it has to be done.

Hincapie, being a left-footer, offers better balance to Arsenal as a left-centre-half.

The Ecuador international can drift wide to cover for Riccardo Calafiori, and he would even offer the option to charge forward like a left-back when the Italian is out of position.

That gives him a slight edge over Mosquera, which is why we think he should get the nod to start alongside Saliba against Chelsea on Sunday.
