Arsenal might be feeling as though their draw with Chelsea was a defeat; however, the result could actually be a blessing in disguise for Mikel Arteta.

All eyes were on Stamford Bridge when first and second place went head to head in a fiercely contested London derby.

Arsenal were unable to get the win, despite Chelsea having ten players for the majority of the contest after Moises Caicedo was sent off in the 38th minute.

Some fans feel as though it was a missed opportunity, which, quite frankly, it was; however, it’s not all doom and gloom.

Arsenal’s draw against Chelsea might be a blessing

A win would’ve seen Arsenal secure a seven-point lead in the Premier League table, but the draw meant the Gunners had to settle for a five-point ruling over other clubs.

Though Viktor Gyokeres could’ve won it at the death to give the visitors a statement three points, Arteta won’t be too dissatisfied with a draw.

Look at how dejected the Arsenal players looked after drawing with Chelsea!

The mentality shift has been clear this season, do you think it can win us the Premier League title?

Not only were Chelsea the better side on the day, but history tells you that a draw against a big six club can trigger magical things at Arsenal.

The last time Arsenal dropped points to one of the Premier League’s big six was when the Gunners drew 1-1 with Manchester City on matchday five.

Arsenal left that game feeling dejected, as their home advantage wasn’t enough, but then went on to pull off a ten-game winning streak.

After the draw, Arsenal won ten games in a row in all competitions, only conceding once in that time.

If drawing against Chelsea has a similar impact, then fans won’t be disheartened about the missed opportunity at Stamford Bridge.
