Viktor Gyokeres put Manchester City to the sword as Sporting CP pulled off a shock 4-1 Champions League victory on Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, whilst Mikel Arteta’s full focus will be on Arsenal’s own upcoming Champions League encounter with Inter Milan, the Spanish coach will be aware of Viktor Gyokeres’ exploits.
The Swedish striker netted a hat-trick against Pep Guardiola’s reigning Premier League champions, dinking a finish over Ederson to get himself up and running on the night before beating the Brazilian goalkeeper twice more from the penalty spot.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing Gyokeres, and the Sporting CP star put on a real showcase of just why he is in such high demand against Manchester City.

Arsenal know that Gyokeres is available for £86 million, and would be wise to do all they can to secure his services. Sealing his signature in the upcoming January transfer window could be enough to push the Gunners on to Premier League title glory.
Arsenal have lacked a prolific striker for a long time. Gyokeres may well be the solution to this issue which has dogged Arteta relentlessly in recent seasons.
