Dear Santa
I’ve been a very good Gooner this year. Honest. Here’s what I’d like in my Christmas stocking tomorrow morning, pretty please!
- Safe standing areas for both home and away fans at Emirates Stadium. Fans deserve an adult choice to sit or stand. They’d really love it Santa, honest.
- Keep the ticket price freeze going. Lots of us are struggling in the recession Santa and we so want to keep going to watch our team. Please at least keep prices as they are if you can’t manage to cut them a bit.
- Four trips to Wembley in 2011. Carling Cup Final, FA Cup Final, Champions League Final, Community Shield. I know I’m a greedy piggy Santa, but I’d be so, so grateful. Oh, and I’d like the Community Shield to be an Arsenal XI v an Arsenal XI cos we’d won the League and the Cup. And the Carling Cup as well!
- Oh, and a trip to Japan with Arsenal as champions of Europe for the FIFA Club World Cup next December. I know that makes me really, really greedy Santa, but I’d be ever so, ever so good. I hate that nasty Herr Blatter and a lot of his FIFA executive committee friends, but I do so want us to be champions of Europe and the whole wide world! Pretty, pretty please!
- New caterers for Emirates Stadium. The beer is REALLY horrible Santa, the food is mediocre, and the service glacial, even in the posh Club section and the prices are so, so high. Believe it not Santa; the same caterers do an even worse job at Wembley, even in the posh Club bit there.
- A brand new goalie, just like our Devine Pony Tail of blessed memory, only with a better hair-cut.
- A special new rule that Didier Drogba can’t ever play against us again for Chelsea or anybody else ever, ever again. I’m sure he’s a nice man really but he’s always ever so, ever so nasty to us!
- A big, huge, giant party for the whole Gooner Nation starting in May next year and leading up to a game on Sunday 11 December 2011, our 125th birthday. We want to party like its 1886!
- Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith to listen to the voices of the Bracewell-Smith family echoing down the generations and give her Arsenal shares to the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust in return for a nice monthly pension for life from Arsenal Fanshare to keep our beloved Arsenal safe forever and ever and ever.
- A big, huge, massive record total raised for our Arsenal charity Centrepoint at the end of the season. I know I moan and moan and moan so much Santa, but I do understand that there are lots and lots of people who are much worse off than me. Helping the yoof of London is so important Santa.
Merry Christmas Santa! Don’t work too hard now!
Keep the faith!
