Arsenal knew this summer’s transfer window was a pivotal crossroads in Mikel Arteta’s reign as manager.

The Gunners have failed to lift a trophy since 2020 and have been Premier League runners-up for three consecutive seasons.

Players such as Bukayo Saka and William Saliba need convincing that Arsenal are the right club to win major honours with as their contracts continue to run down.

Arsenal must break their transfer policy to sign Alexander Isak

Arsenal fans are excited by Gyokeres and rightly so given his incredible goalscoring record in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon.

However, Mikel Arteta’s dream signing is Alexander Isak and the Newcastle forward has just told his club that he wants to explore his options this summer.

The Kroenke empire, as we know, run a tight ship and do not exceed their financial limits under any circumstances.

However, Arsenal have the financial capacity to sign Isak and with Liverpool interested in the forward, the time is now for the owners to break their transfer policy and go all out to sign Isak.

There is no risk with the signing of Isak. He is one of the best strikers in world football and has proven himself time and time again in the Premier League.

Arsenal know that all too well with Isak having an excellent record against the Gunners and often gives William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes a torrid time.

With Liverpool already strengthening their attack with Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, adding Isak would be a real concern for Arsenal’s title chances next season.

The moment has come for the Kroenke’s to really show they mean business and want this club to land major trophies.

As for concerns over signing two strikers, Isak and Gyokeres have already proven that they can play together for the Swedish national side.

They are usually deployed in a 4-4-2 system or if a tactical tweak occurs, Isak is the player that moves over to the left flank.

Of course, the arrival of Isak would mean that one of, if not both, Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard would depart the club alongside the likes of Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson.

The difference between Arsenal and Liverpool last season was simply the attacking firepower available. The Gunners simply cannot let Liverpool purchase a player with 23 Premier League goals to his name last campaign.
