The Insider’s: Selling Aubameyang for £17m would be woeful from Arsenal

Reports have emerged claiming Arsenal are willing to listen to offers of €20m (£17m) for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

What’s the story?

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus are keen on signing the Gunners captain this summer.

But, with two years left on his current deal, you would have to question a fee of just £17m for the Gabon international.

The Old Lady could be set to lose Cristiano Ronaldo, who has asked to leave Turin after three years in Italy. It could be why the Bianconeri are targeting a move for the African.

Manchester City have set their sights on the Portugal international with the Citizens seemingly closing in on a move.

Aubameyang enjoyed a return to form on Wednesday evening after scoring a hat-trick versus West Brom.

Aubameyang too precious on form for Arsenal to sell him for £17m

On form, there is little doubt who the Gunners’ best player is.

Aubameyang is far too precious on form for Arsenal to sell him to Juventus, especially for just £17m.

The asking price, if proven true, is woeful and a sign of the lack of authority from the Emirates Stadium hierarchy.

For far too long, the north Londoners have been getting robbed by other clubs when it comes to selling players.

And when you consider, Juventus are demanding €30m (£26m) for Ronaldo, who is 36-years-old, it puts into perspective the transfer.

Arsenal need to think clearly about selling one of their most prized assets for such a modest total.

Not only will it significantly weaken the whole team, but, it would mean losing the club captain and any chance of replacing him capably.
