Recent reports have claimed that Arsenal ace Hector Bellerin is a transfer target for Inter.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Spaniard is on the Italian outfit’s list of replacements for Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan defender is closing in on a move to Paris Saint Germain, claims the journalist.

Bellerin has long been linked with a move away from north London. He was set to leave last summer, however, Mikel Arteta convinced the player to stay.

But, he’s thought to be keen on a move away from the Emirates Stadium, and it’s brilliant news for the club. Arsenal desperately require an upgrade on the Spain international, whose quality has dropped off massively in recent years.

Bellerin lacks quality at both ends

The ace possesses a lack of quality at both ends of the pitch.

Bellerin has struggled in one-on-one defending and was torn to shreds quite often last year. His performance against Heung-Min Son stills brings up nightmares.

He also proved incredibly unreliable on the ball, often stuttering when in possession.

His lack of quality in the final third, compared to Kieran Tierney, was quite shocking last campaign. The Scotsman attempted 125 crosses, more than double that the 25-year-old managed (54).

Bellerin has no way back at Arsenal

With everything in mind, it’s imperative Arteta signs a right-back this summer.

Failure to do so will see the club continue with Bellerin, and there seems no way back for the former Barcelona man.

His lack of appearances towards the end of last term hinted at an exit from the Emirates Stadium. He was usurped by Calum Chambers, who was only just recovering from a long-term injury. It hinted at a lack of trust from Arteta, who had only a year previously convinced him to stay at the club.

Bellerin’s time at Arsenal has come to an end, and failure to replace him will be a devastating move from the club.
