Arsenal fans have received the news they were all waiting for.
The Gunners have been on the lookout for a new striker all summer, and there have been prolonged negotiations to get a deal done.
Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal’s top target, and talks with Sporting CP haven’t been easy at all in recent weeks.
However, David Ornstein has just revealed that Arsenal are in the final stages of signing Gyokeres after making formal advances over the weekend.
Arsenal should sign Eberechi Eze after Viktor Gyokeres
A new striker was the absolute priority in this window, and Andrea Berta is about to deliver.
Viktor Gyokeres is a serial goalscorer, having netted nearly 100 goals over the last two seasons. Yes, most of them came in the Portuguese league, but his numbers cannot be ignored.
Now that the Gyokeres deal is about to be finalised, Arsenal should focus on their next big signing, and that has to be Eberechi Eze.
The Gunners have solved their goalscoring woes with a new forward, but they still need someone other than Martin Odegaard to penetrate low blocks.
Eze is more than capable of that, and his ability to glide past players, create chances and score goals from different areas makes him a perfect fit.
Reports have claimed that Berta has had Eze on his mind in recent weeks — the Italian now has to act on that interest and table a bid.
Signing both Eze and Gyokeres in the same window would be incredible business by Arsenal.

Who else could Arsenal sign after Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard in this window, while Noni Madueke is also about to become a Gunner.
Gyokeres is now set to come in too, making it five big signings.
After the Swede, Arsenal are expected to push for the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia. An opening bid was rejected for the defender, but the Gunners are expected to go back in with another offer.
That will likely be it for Arsenal in this window, but the cherry on top would be signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid later this summer.
That move does seem unlikely now, but if Berta can pull it off, Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League next season will increase significantly.
