With one win under the belt already, Arsenal will be looking for a positive start at home against in-form Burnley. The Clarets ran riot against Southampton, beating them 3-0 and they will come to the Emirates with high confidence.
Alexandre Lacazette is expected to recover from his ankle problem while Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos could get a start. Sean Dyche’s men are capable of hurting us and here are three of them who Arsenal should be wary of.
Burnley’s biggest goal threat, their skipper banged two against Southampton last week and will cause us a ton of problems. Barnes’ movement combined with his brilliance in the air has the potential to knick a goal out of nothing. Both Barnes and Wood will prove to be a handful in aerial duels and the duo will have to marked properly by our two centre-halves.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson:
Another goalscorer from the opening day, the former Chelsea youth player has been a consistent performer for the Clarets since he joined them back in 2016. Gudmundsson possesses a brilliant left foot, has the ability to dribble past players easily and he is certain to be a big headache for Nacho Monreal on the Arsenal’s left side.
Arguably Burnley’s best player from last season, Tarkowski will be a rock in central defence for the Clarets and Arsenal’s forwards will have to do well to get past him. Aubameyang and Lacazette along with Nicolas Pepe are more than capable of penetrating Burnley’s backline but Tarkowski will have a massive say in the outcome of the game.
