Arsenal supporters will be hoping to see a number of the club’s young talents given the chance to impress on the upcoming USA tour.

On Sunday, Arsenal will jet off to America to take part in a series of friendlies.

First, Mikel Arteta’s side will take on Bournemouth and Manchester United in Los Angeles, before moving on to Philadelphia where they will face Liverpool.

These matches are largely fitness exercises, but they will also give supporters and the manager the opportunity to observe how some tactical tweaks take shape.

However, due to the fact that so many of the North London club’s established stars are on an extended holiday after taking part in international tournaments, Arsenal will be without many of their key players in the US.

This should open the door for a number of promising youngsters from the Hale End academy system to come into Arteta’s touring squad.

Three Hale End gems Arsenal fans want to see Mikel Arteta play in America

Ethan Nwaneri

Ethan Nwaneri is already familiar to Arsenal fans, as he already has two first team appearances under his belt. The 17-year-old attacking-midfielder got a run out from the bench against West Ham United last season, having made his debut as a substitute against Brentford in 2022.

When he made his bow against the Bees, the England under-17 international became the youngest player in the Gunners’ and Premier League history.

There is a plan for Nwaneri to progress at Arsenal, and his potential is obvious. Arteta has previously likened Nwaneri to Jack Wilshere, who broke onto the scene for Arsenal whilst still a teenager himself.

Myles Lewis-Skelly

With Declan Rice not set to travel to America, Arteta will have the opportunity to experiment in the middle of the park. This could mean that game time is afforded to Myles Lewis-Skelly

The 17-year-old is a combative presence, and defensively aware, but can also impress on the ball, drive forward, and make an impact in the final third. There is an argument that Lewis-Skelly could emulate Kobbie Mainoo if given an opportunity by Arteta at Arsenal.

Chido Obi-Martin

16-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin made headlines last season for all the right reasons. The Danish starlet scored a hatful of goals at academy level for the Gunners.

Obi-Martin broke Arsenal academy records with his goalscoring feats, and supporters will now be desperate to see if he is yet capable of translating his prolific form to senior level football.
