Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been playing at completely different levels in recent years.
Mikel Arteta’s side won the Premier League title last season and reached the final of the Champions League. Spurs, on the other hand, managed back-to-back 17th-place finishes.
That is the difference in levels between the two sides, and Arteta is one of the biggest reasons behind the Gunners’ success.
Now, Tottenham are set to make an announcement that is going to make the Arsenal manager look fantastic.
🏆👀 Which manager should make way for Mikel Arteta on the Premier League’s Mount Rushmore?
What does Mikel need to do to make the list?
Tottenham’s imminent Luka Vuskovic announcement will make Mikel Arteta look like a genius
Luka Vuskovic has long been spoken about by Tottenham fans in the same breath as William Saliba.
The young Croatian defender is a huge talent, and he has enjoyed a few successful spells on loan away from Spurs.
Now, reports have claimed that Brighton have struck a deal to sign Vuskovic from Tottenham on a permanent deal this summer. An announcement from both clubs is imminent.
You may not notice it right away, but this is where Arteta and Arsenal come out looking like absolute geniuses.
Saliba was in a similar position as Vuskovic many years ago, when he had no place at the Emirates and was repeatedly sent on loan.
There were rumours at the time that Arsenal could sell him, but Arteta sent him on one last loan to Marseille before bringing him back and giving him an opportunity.
Saliba has since become arguably the best centre-back on the planet, and he is definitely worth well over £100 million.
Arteta’s decision has been proven right, while Spurs may end up looking silly if Vuskovic thrives in a few years’ time.

Yes, Roberto De Zerbi’s side do have a right-to-match option included in the deal, but that may prove meaningless considering how Brighton handle sales.
If Vuskovic turns out to be a star, the Seagulls will demand an absolute fortune to sell him. The fee could be so high that Spurs may not be able to afford it.
Selling the young centre-back could really come back to haunt Spurs, but Arsenal fans will not care, as they didn’t make the same mistake with Saliba.
