What Thomas Partey has been doing during Arsenal contract talks could hint at final exit decision

Thomas Partey is just days away from making a potential exit from Arsenal, which could bring an end to his spell at the club.

The Ghanaian midfielder joined from Atletico Madrid in 2020, with the Gunners triggering his release clause worth £45 million.

In the five years that he has been at the club, Thomas Partey has been in and out of the team, largely through injury.

Last season, the 32-year-old was available regularly and was often picked by Mikel Arteta to feature in his Arsenal side.

However, with Partey’s contract dwindling, talks have been ongoing about the possibility of a stay at the Emirates Stadium.

As it stands, with no agreement reached, the midfielder is heading towards the exit door.

Thomas Partey has been training amid Arsenal contract talks

While some of the Arsenal squad have been away on holiday, relaxing, Partey has been locked in contract talks this summer.

With the midfielder yet to reach an agreement with the Gunners, there is a feeling that an exit could be on the cards.

Arteta is set for face-to-face talks with Partey in the coming week, before a decision is officially made on his future.

In the meantime, though, the Ghanaian international has been spotted in action during his break, taking part in some training drills.

On the one hand, it could hint at the fact that Partey is going to become a free agent, taking on some individual drills and getting himself ready for the coming pre-season, wherever that may be.

On the other hand, it may be that he is preparing himself to be ready regardless, given his previous injury issues.

In the clip, however, there may be another small hint towards his future.

Thomas Partey spotted wearing new Jorginho Flamengo shirt in potential transfer hint

Eagle-eyed fans may have spotted in the training videos that Partey was wearing a different club’s football shirt.

The midfielder wasn’t wearing the Arsenal kit, but instead a shirt from Brazilian club Flamengo.

The kit had Jorginho’s name and number on the back, following Jorginho’s move to Flamengo as a free agent this summer.

It could be a potential hint towards Partey following in his footsteps this summer in a move as a free agent himself.

However, it remains to be seen, as discussions over his future hit a crunch point in the next week, before an exit is confirmed.
