Arsenal are interested in signing Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman this summer.
The Gunners are eager to add a dynamic wide forward to Mikel Arteta’s ranks to provide cover and competition for Bukayo Saka, and perhaps an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli.
Andrea Berta has opened talks with Lookman about a potential switch to the Emirates, with the Italian sporting director looking to find alternatives to his dream target, Rodrygo.
With that said, here are four Arsenal players who would be impacted by the signing of Lookman.

Winners from Arsenal signing Ademola Lookman
Benjamin Sesko
While the pursuit of a striker is still up in the air at the Emirates, Benjamin Sesko remains the most likely number nine target to end up in North London.
Arsenal are locked in negotiations with Leipzig for Sesko, and given the German club’s purported desire to cash in, it would not be surprising if an agreement is reached.
While the Slovenian is talented, he’s not yet at the level where he’s capable of creating shots for himself.
However, the introduction of another creative player into Arsenal’s team in the form of Lookman will only help the lethal centre-forward get more chances and score more goals.
Bukayo Saka
Arsenal fans are perennially concerned about the amount of minutes Bukayo Saka plays every season.
Last campaign, the Hale End graduate suffered a severe hamstring injury that kept him out of action for over two months, and many felt this may have been avoided had he been offered some respite in the last few years.

Lookman is capable of playing off the right, and given he’d likely be acquired for a substantial fee, Arteta would surely trust him to fill in for Saka from time to time.
The Arsenal talisman needs rest occasionally, and Lookman should be able to provide him with these opportunities to sit on the bench.
Losers from Arsenal signing Ademola Lookman
Gabriel Martinelli
The potential arrival of Lookman could spell the end for one of the wingers already in Arsenal’s squad.
Gabriel Martinelli is wanted by Bayern Munich, and the Gunners may well sanction this move if they can get a deal across the line for the Atalanta star.
However, Arteta will likely want to keep the Brazilian in his ranks, so that he still has a player at his disposal who is capable of stretching opposition backlines with blistering pace in behind, a quality that isn’t in Lookman’s repertoire.
That said, Martinelli would still be relegated to being the back-up option and would likely see his minutes slashed significantly.

Leandro Trossard
Leandro Trossard is perhaps more likely than Martinelli to depart if Lookman moves to N5.
The Belgian is similarly technical and efficient in tight spaces to the Nigeria international, but significantly less effective at finding himself in goal-scoring positions and finishing chances.
Thus, as he’s a similar profile to Lookman, Arteta may feel that Trossard’s skillset isn’t needed at the Emirates anymore if he has the former Fulham man in his squad.
AC Milan and Saudi Pro-League clubs are known to hold an interest in the 30-year-old, and this summer may be the opportune moment for Arsenal to cash in.
