Arsenal's 2021/22 Premier League fixtures: Predicting our first six results

Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures for the upcoming season have been announced and the list hasn’t been too kind to Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners face the two Champions League finalists in our first three games of the campaign. If that wasn’t enough, we have the North London derby to deal with on matchday six. That’s not ideal at all, but we have to find a way to get the job done.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Nobody knows which Arsenal side will turn up on matchday. We can beat any side in the country but we can also lose to any side in the country. That makes it almost impossible to predict, but we’ve tried our best here.

Predicting Arsenal’s first six Premier League results

Brentford vs Arsenal:

The Bees are back in the Premier League and they would love nothing more than to start with a win. Brentford are a really good side, everyone who has watched them over the last 12 months will tell you that.

However, Arteta and his men should fancy their chances. We’ve won our opening day fixture in each of our last seasons, and we expect the same this time as well.

Prediction: Brentford 1-3 Arsenal

Arsenal vs Chelsea

The Blues are high in spirits after winning the Champions League last month. That confidence will surely help them next season, but Arteta has an excellent record against Chelsea as our manager.

Arsenal have won three games on the bounce against Chelsea and are unbeaten in the last four. It won’t be easy to pick up another win, but we believe that the Gunners have what it takes to hold our own, especially as it’s at home.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

Manchester City vs Arsenal

Arteta really has made us a lot more competitive against the bigger sides since he took over. Arsenal have managed to beat the rest of the big-six in the league in the last two years, but Manchester City have been a level above us.

We haven’t beaten the Cityzens in the Premier League since December 2015. They’re now unbeaten in 11 league meetings against us, and as much as it hurts to say it, we can’t see that record changing when we go to the Etihad in August.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Arsenal

Burnley vs Arsenal

Arsenal finally get some respite after two hugely difficult games, but Burnley are not an easy side to beat. The Clarets are unbeaten against Arteta’s side and Sean Dyche would love nothing more than to maintain that record.

However, the Gunners will be much stronger all over the park by September and we expect nothing but a win at Turf Moor.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal vs Norwich

The Canaries were undoubtedly the best team in the Championship last season and they are deservedly back in the Premier League. However, the fixture list has been really cruel to them.

Norwich will have faced Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester before coming to the Emirates. They will likely arrive with no points and we expect them to depart the same way. It should be a really comfortable win for Arsenal.

Prediction: Arsenal 4-0 Norwich

Arsenal vs Tottenham

The first North London derby of the season and nothing but a win is ever acceptable in this fixture. Spurs will come in with a new manager and potentially without Harry Kane. That puts them at a disadvantage right away.

Arsenal beat them at the Emirates last season and we expect the same result again in September. North London will remain red.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Tottenham
