Arsenal took West Ham to the cleaners this afternoon with a 6-0 thumping win at the London Stadium, with Gabriel Magalhaes getting on the scoresheet.

The Brazilian international brought his tally for the season to four as Gabriel helped the Gunners to one of their best victories of the entire season in east London.

The performance was faultless from Arsenal, though West Ham’s lack of energy and drive played a crucial role in the north Londoners putting six past the Hammers, and one moment from Gabriel showed how much the Gunners truly dominated the Irons.

As reported by the Telegraph’s Sam Dean, a wardrobe error in the second-half truly highlighted how bad West Ham were against Arsenal in their own stadium.

The defender lost his boot during a play as West Ham had control of the ball, with Leandro Trossard throwing the boot back to Gabriel who sorted himself out, all while the Irons struggled to launch an attack.

Indeed, West Ham’s performance was arguably one of the worst from a Premier League side all season, with the Irons looking uninterested and bored when the restart kicked-off.

And for Arsenal, Gabriel having enough time to lose a boot and put it back on whilst out of possession showed just how impressive the Gunners were, with West Ham no match for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Few would have expected West Ham to crumble as easily as they did this weekend, yet Arsenal’s quality was simply too much for the Hammers in the English capital.

And heading into the new Premier League fixtures and the return of the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal will want to ensure their performance levels don’t drop.

As we know, the Gunners are now firmly in the title race and well as outside favourites for the Europe’s biggest prize, yet that can only happen if Arsenal can maintain their current form.
