The rumours about Aaron Ramsey returning to Arsenal come around every year for one reason or another. They’re here again and this time, they’re stronger than ever.

The Welsh wizard has had a difficult time in Italy over the last 12 months. Injuries have again troubled him, while his performances last season, much like most of his teammates’, haven’t really been at the level required.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

CalcioMercato revealed yesterday that Juventus want to get rid of Ramsey this summer and the midfielder would really fancy a return to the Emirates. It was even claimed that he was willing to take a big wage cut to return to Arsenal, and that excited quite a few supporters.

Agent: There is no truth in Aaron Ramsey to Arsenal rumours

A fully fit Ramsey is up there with the best midfielders in the Premier League. He is exactly the type of player Arsenal need in the middle of the park and we’ve needed someone of his profile ever since he left.

It really would be a fairytale return for Ramsey if the move does happen, but is it really possible? His agent doesn’t think so.

David Baldwin of Avid Sports Group responded to a Tweet citing Calcio Mercato’s report about Ramsey returning to Arsenal. The Welshman’s representative rubbished the rumour immediately, and that should end all the speculation.

The Insider’s View:

Ramsey will almost definitely be available for a transfer this summer and Arsenal are on the lookout for a new central midfielder. It’s almost written in the stars when you think about it, but it’s not a good idea for either party.

A player like Ramsey – who is good with the ball at his feet, can drive forward and can chip in with goals regularly – is exactly what we need this summer. However, it makes no sense for us to invest in the £400,000-a-week midfielder.

Ramsey is 30 already and injuries have continued to trouble him. Since joining Juventus two years ago, he has missed 125 days of football due to fitness issues. That is a massive concern, and it is a risk Arsenal simply cannot afford to take this summer.
