Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed the one reason why he respects Bukayo Saka, but it has nothing to do with the youngster’s ability on the pitch.
The legendary Frenchman knew the teenager before he made his way into the first team. Henry coached Saka in the academy, and he’s now revealed what he noticed about the teenager a few years ago.
Saka’s quality and courage on the ball is the obvious answer and Henry mentioned that. However, he also revealed the one reason why he really respects the young English ace, and Arsenal fans will love what he said.
Thierry Henry: Bukayo Saka really cares about Arsenal
Henry told Goal: “Yes, I had a couple of sessions with Bukayo. You could see that he wanted to run at people, he wanted the ball, he was brave on the ball.
“When I saw him breaking into the first team after I left, I was like: ‘Wow, it’s amazing’.
“I always liked the attitude of the kid, his commitment and what I like about him is he cares about this club. He will do whatever to make sure that the team wins. You have to respect that.”
The Insider’s View:
Saka is Arsenal’s through and through, there’s no two ways about it.
The Englishman joined Arsenal as a seven year-old and has made his way to the very top. He is arguably the Gunners’ best player at the moment and the stats show that he the best young player in the Premier League as well.
Saka’s attitude on and off the pitch really does show that he cares about Arsenal. Gooners expect nothing else from the players and to see a 19-year-old lead the way is a joy for everyone associated with the club.
The expectations on Saka will be sky high next season. It’s wrong to expect him to carry us again next term, but knowing how good he really is, it won’t be a surprise to see him set the Premier League stage on fire again.
