'Evidence is there': Gary Neville says he's seriously worried about Arsenal

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that he’s really worried about this inexperienced Arsenal side ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners have had an impressive transfer window after the disappointing end to the last campaign. We were so close to finishing inside the top four, but back-to-back defeats against Tottenham and Newcastle killed our chances.

Neville has now used that example to claim that Arsenal are naive. He believes the inexperience in our squad could once again cost us in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

Gary Neville says he’s worried about inexperienced Arsenal

Speaking on the Overlap, the Sky Sports pundit said, as quoted by HITC: “I worry about the experience and a young manager. To be fair, it’s not unfounded, the evidence is there staring us in the face.

“Last season, Arsenal should have finished in the top four, but in the end, the experience of Conte and the experience of the Spurs players, that game at the Tottenham Stadium, it was alarming how naive Arsenal were and short they were.

“My concern is, and I know Manchester United and Chelsea are struggling a little bit in terms of where they are, and they might both blow up, but they would have to for Arsenal to get into the top four.

“The experience is still not there, both on the pitch and off the pitch. On the pitch, who in that team is going to (carry them over the line)?”

The Insider’s View:

We can’t really argue with what Neville has said about last season, but things are a lot different now.

The young players Arsenal had last season are now more experienced and know where they went wrong. We had no right to be anywhere near the top four last season considering that we had the youngest squad in the entire country, but we got so close.

Now, Arsenal have added two proven winners in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. The two former Manchester City stars know what it takes to succeed in the Premier League, and they will surely be of help to our young players during difficult moments in the upcoming campaign.

The new Premier League season kicks off on Friday and Arsenal will have a chance to change Neville’s opinion with a good performance against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
