Arsenal Invincible Ray Parlour has claimed that he wouldn’t sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar for the Gunners if he had the chance.

The Gunners have had an excellent transfer window so far. We’ve brought in Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus, and most recently, Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Jesus is undoubtedly our marquee signing, and if things go to plan, he’s going to be our superstar. His fellow countryman, Neymar, could potentially be on the market this summer, but as good as he is, Parlour doesn’t want him anywhere near Arsenal.

Ray Parlour says he wouldn’t sign Neymar for Arsenal

French journalist Julien Laurens claimed last month that if PSG receive an offer for Neymar, they’d let him go because Kylian Mbappe is the main man now, not the Brazilian.

On talkSPORT this morning (July 26, 8:39 am), Parlour, an Arsenal legend, was asked if he’d take the former Barcelona superstar at the Emirates to play alongside Jesus next season.

The Romford Pele replied: “No, I don’t think I would have him at Arsenal. I think he could upset people.

“They have got a player now who is going to be the main man for Arsenal, Jesus, and if Neymar came in, then he would not be the main man at Arsenal.”

The Insider’s View:

Neymar is not an option for Arsenal for so many different reasons.

Firstly, we’d never be able to afford him and his wages. Then, it’s extremely unlikely that he’d be willing to drop down to the Europa League.

If a miracle happens and the above two issues are eliminated, then comes Mikel Arteta. The Arsenal has proved that he has no interest in working with superstars who think they are bigger than the team. Our transfer policy is also against signing ageing players – Neymar is 30 already.

The Brazilian is simply a no-go for Arsenal, and even though we know that anything can happen in football, we’re certain that this will not happen.
