Arsenal’s search for a new winger has hit something of a brick wall as the side deals with a couple of setbacks in the transfer market.
The Gunners have been looking to bolster Mikel Arteta’s options in the forward ranks, with some main targets becoming unavailable.
Recent reports have stated that Nico Williams is set to snub Arsenal in favour of Barcelona, meaning the north London side have cooled their interest.
Beyond him, Arsenal’s deal for Rodrygo has been described as difficult, meaning they may have to look at other targets.
Fortunately, Andrea Berta appears to have plenty of backup options on the cards.
That includes a move for a Premier League star that Arsenal could swoop for this summer.

Arsenal show interest in Anthony Gordon after Nico Williams transfer snub
With Nico Williams and Rodrygo being the main targets for Arsenal in the wide areas, the club may have to rethink their options.
The Gunners could turn to others who weren’t considered at first, but could now be towards the top of the shortlist.
One of those is Anthony Gordon, as The Athletic reports that the Newcastle star is someone who intrigues Arsenal.
Gordon, 24, has impressed since joining the Magpies in January 2023 from Everton in a deal worth roughly £45 million.
The star has been a regular starter on the left flank for his side and played a key role in them winning the Carabao Cup this season.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle would be open to selling Gordon this summer, given his last contract extension was in October 2024.

Anthony Gordon praise from Lee Carsley during England time
Anthony Gordon has been impressive over the past few seasons, and he managed to make quite the impression on Lee Carsley in his short stint as England boss.
The winger featured in the Three Lions’ win over the Republic of Ireland in late 2024, where his display got plenty of plaudits.
“On a really dry, sticky pitch, it’s not often ideal for dribbles, but I thought Anthony was really good, a real threat,” Carsley said.
“He’s carried on his form from last season and he looks a real dangerous player.”
It’s the type of praise that Arsenal will want to take on board for a player that they are considering for the forward ranks.
It remains to be seen if it’s one they will get done, but it could be a huge move for the Gunners.
