The agent of Marcos Leonardo is currently pushing for a January transfer move for their client.
Arsenal have recently been credited with an interest in Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo.
Now, as reported by Sport Witness, agent Rafaela Pimenta has entered into a partnership with Leonardo’s other representatives, which compels her to secure a move for the 20-year-old forward in the coming weeks.
As such, Pimenta is said to be willing to “do everything possible” to strike a deal with a buying club.
With Arsenal thought to be amongst Leonardo’s likely destinations, this situation makes the Gunners’ chances of securing the youngster’s signature this winter all the more likely. Of course, it could also mean that they face significant competition in the race to get a deal done.
Sporting director Edu’s contacts in his native Brazil ought to give the north London club another advantage over their rivals when it comes to negotiations. There is also a healthy contingent of Brazilian players already in place at the Emirates Stadium, which may make the club a more attractive option for the Santos star. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Gabriel Jesus would all play their part in helping Leonardo settle in London.

Should Arsenal make a move for Marcos Leonardo?
It would be fascinating to see where Leonardo might fit into Mikel Arteta’s plans. Arsenal are known to be on the hunt for a new striker, but the Brazil under-20 international would be unlikely to become an immediate starter in north London. He would need time to settle, adapt to the rigours of the Premier League, and develop his game further.
Another issue to contend with is one of priorities. Despite Leonardo looking set to be available in January, that does not mean this winter is necessarily the best time for Arsenal to invest in the player. Injuries to Arteta’s defensive contingent have left him light on options at the back. With Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu now sidelined, a new defender must surely be at the top of his shopping list in the upcoming window.
If Arsenal are able to make sales this winter, though, then they may be able to raise the funds needed to bring in Leonardo as well as a defensive cover option. He would certainly be an exciting addition to the squad as he has vast potential. He is already a regular scorer for Santos in the Brazilian top flight and could be a future superstar in the making.
