Arsenal are close to signing Jeremy Monga and Emmanuel Mbemba

One of Arsenal’s biggest strengths in recent years has been their academy.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman have all come out of Hale End and have helped save millions.

Arsenal have understood how valuable that strategy is, so they are pushing hard to sign players for their academy now to develop them for the future.

Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, while PSG youngster Emmanuel Mbemba is also of interest to Arsenal.

TeamTalk have now revealed that the Premier League champions are closing in on both deals.

It has been claimed that Berta and Mikel Arteta have both personally spoken to Monga, and the teen ‘has been won over by Arsenal’s vision for his future’.

There is said to be ‘growing confidence’ that this deal can be completed.

As for Mbemba, Chelsea and Manchester City’s football groups, along with a few other clubs in Europe, have all shown interest in signing him.

However, the report says that the young defender favours a move to the Emirates Stadium because of ‘Arsenal’s reputation for developing young talent and the opportunities potentially available at the club’.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal can get either deal over the line, but this shows a clear intent to make sure that the future is right.
