Andrea Berta’s Arsenal transfer plans are in place ahead of the summer window.
The new sporting director was appointed as Edu’s replacement in late March, and he already appears to be looking to imprint his own ideas on how to build Mikel Arteta’s squad moving forward.
The Gunners are expected to be busy this summer, with a new striker, a winger, a midfielder and a back-up goalkeeper all being targeted.
Arteta has his own beliefs on what Arsenal should be doing in the market, but it looks as though Berta may overrule the Spaniard in certain areas.

Andrea Berta wants to sign two strikers this summer
It’s well documented that Arsenal’s priority this summer is to add a striker to Arteta’s ranks.
Alexander Isak has been mooted as the dream acquisition, while the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko continue to be linked with a switch to the Emirates.
According to FootballTransfers, both Liam Delap and Ollie Watkins have been added to the Gunners’ shortlist.
The publication indicate that Berta is keen to sign two number nines of differing profiles in the summer.
The Italian wants a proven striker who can slot straight into Arteta’s team and score goals from the offset, alongside a younger player who offers ‘flexibility, potential and resale value’.
The likes of Watkins and Gyokeres fit the bill for the first category, while Sesko and Delap are firmly in the latter.
However, if only one can be acquired, then Berta favours a proven option, as he feels Arsenal’s window to win is now, and not in two or three years when someone of Sesko’s profile will be ready to make a significant impact.

Andrea Berta’s transfer strategy for Arsenal is smart
Back in 2021, when Arsenal were assembling a squad that could compete in two or three years, signing a Sesko would’ve made sense.
The Gunners weren’t on the cusp of major silverware, and needed to add players who could grow with the core youngsters Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.
Now, however, Arsenal’s winning window with this current squad is in the next two to three years, so signing a younger player who needs to develop is more of a risk.
That’s why Gyokeres, who is evidently a prolific goalscorer and ready to play at the highest level, makes sense for Arsenal’s project.
If they can’t land Isak, it should be his Sweden teammate that walks through the London Colney doors come the start of the next season.
