Arsenal were recently linked with a surprise move for Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding in the Championship this season, and attracted interest from several Premier League sides including Brighton.
The Seagulls recently made an approach for him which was swiftly knocked back, with Leicester demanding a high fee for one of their key players, but Arsenal were also named as an interested party despite their financial fair play issues.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Arsenal’s interest in him is not a new development, and he has been on the club’s radar for some time.
Arsenal heavily scouted Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano claimed that the midfielder is of interest to Arsenal as they rate him highly, having sent scouts to watch him on several occasions.
“From what I heard, they have sent some scouts multiple times to follow him, because they believe he is very talented,” he stated.
“Also, other clubs did the same, so not just Arsenal. I think it’s three or four clubs doing the same. The only proposal came from Brighton.
“From what I heard, they offered around £20m for him with some add-ons included in the proposal.
“This is still not enough to convince Leicester because they have always wanted around £40m for Dewsbury-Hall, so I think it’s not going to be that easy.
“The best candidate to sign the player in the final days is Brighton more than Arsenal in this moment”
Could Dewsbury-Hall become an option for Arsenal?

If he does not move in the January window, then the Leicester star cannot be ruled out as a summer option for Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s targets in recent windows have been relatively young players with Premier League experience under his belt, and Dewsbury-Hall certainly fits this profile.
However, unless there is a surprise departure of Fabio Vieira or Emile Smith Rowe, there is little need for an attacking central midfielder in the summer window.
Martin Zubimendi has been strongly linked as a defensive midfielder which could allow Declan Rice to push further forward, and given Dewsbury-Hall’s price tag, it would be a huge surprise if he was also pursued in addition to him.
Arsenal have scouted several midfielders including Exequiel Palacios, and whilst Dewsbury-Hall may be admired, this may just be a case of the club doing their due diligence when it comes to their scouting across the Championship.
