Arsenal have confirmed an exit for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has joined Southampton on a permanent deal.

The 26-year-old spent three years at the Emirates Stadium, joining from Sheffield United in 2021 to add competition to the goalkeeping ranks.

Ramsdale did just that, quickly usurping Bernd Leno to take the number one shirt for himself and playing a huge role in the team moving forward.

Call-ups to the England national team followed for the Stoke-born star, while his performances helped turn Arsenal from dreamers to believers.

The shot-stopper was part of a side that progressed under Mikel Arteta, from European exile to Premier League title challengers.

There were, however, moments that proved costly as David Raya was drafted in from Brentford, quickly taking the responsibility as first choice.

After a season of playing backup, Ramsdale has joined Southampton in search of more regular game time.

How much did Arsenal sell Aaron Ramsdale for?

Arsenal sold Ramsdale to Southampton for an initial £18million transfer fee – which could reach £25million if certain performance-related add-ons are secured.
