Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Amadou Onana from Everton, and there’s still a chance he could be brought in.

The Gunners are yet to lift a finger in the January transfer window. There’s less than a week left and nothing seems likely, but journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that something could still happen if Arsenal can manage one thing before next week’s deadline.

Arsenal could sign Amadou Onana if Edu can pull off a sale

Arsenal‘s priorities in this window have kept on changing if you’re one to believe the rumour mill.

Every Gooner wants a new striker in this window, but there was a lot of talk about signing a new midfielder as well.

Douglas Luiz was heavily linked at the time, but the more popular name among the fan base over the last few weeks has been Amadou Onana.

The £33 million Belgian has been on Arsenal’s radar for a while now, but Tavolieri has claimed today that Financial Fair Play regulations are ‘ruining’ any chance we have of signing him from Everton.

However, the journalist has asked Arsenal fans to ‘wait and see’ as things could still change if Edu manages to sell one of our players before next week’s deadline.

Tavolieri tweeted: “Financial Fair Play currently ruining the Gunners’ chances of bringing the Amadou Onana deal to a successful conclusion.

“But Wait&See, because a last-minute sale to #AFC could obviously change everything…”

Onana to Arsenal is unlikely this month

Amadou Onana is definitely a player Arsenal should be looking at.

The Everton midfielder has been unbelievable for them over the last 18 months, and it’s only a matter of time before he moves to a bigger club.

However, a switch to Arsenal in the coming days is extremely unlikely as none of our players who can be sold for a significant sum are close to the exit door.

A move in the summer is far more realistic, and Onana is someone Arsenal should seriously consider, especially if Thomas Partey ends up leaving.
