According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal and two other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Sassuolo and Italy star Domenico Berardi.

The Gunners, like most of us, seem to be keeping a close eye on Euro 2020.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Italy started their campaign in style as they comfortably dispatched Turkey 3-0. All eyes were on the likes of Manuel Locatelli and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but 26-year-old Berardi impressed everyone with a fine performance.

The Italian drove into the box and forced the ball to go in off Merih Demiral eight minutes into the second half. That set the Azzurri on their way, and it now looks like Berardi could be on his way too, from Sassuolo to the Premier League.

The report claims that Tottenham, Manchester United and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have all indirectly enquired about signing the winger this summer.

Labelled as an ‘extraordinary player‘ by his former boss Eusebio Di Francesco, Berardi was incredible last season. He scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in the Serie A, and that is why Sassuolo have slapped a £43 million price tag on his head.

Should Arsenal sign Domenico Berardi?

Berardi has been Sassuolo’s star man for quite a while now. He has scored 41 goals and has provided 22 assists in all competitions in the last three seasons, which is a phenomenal record for someone who plays out wide,

However, the 26-year-old is a left-footed right-winger whose biggest threat is cutting inside and having a pop at goal. Arsenal have two players who can do exactly that in Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe, which makes a move for the Italian absolutely unnecessary.

Arteta should instead use that £43 million on a central midfielder and focus on helping Pepe become even better. The Ivorian ended last season in fantastic style, and if the Arsenal boss can help him add consistency into his game, he will become a real force in the Premier League.
