Arsenal are interested in Pedro Neto, but face competition for his signature.

According to 90min, Arsenal are long-term admirers of Wolves winger Pedro Neto, and are keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. However, Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the Portuguese attacker.

If Arsenal do make a formal move to sign Neto, they could find themselves being dragged into a bidding war over the 23-year-old.

It is unsurprising that there is currently a high level of interest in Neto. The 4-cap Portugal international has been in fine form so far this season. He produced an electric display when Wolves pulled off a shock 2-1 win against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City last time out.

Neto’s raw talent has never been in doubt. However, his career was severely interrupted by a serious knee injury sustained in April 2021. It has taken the wide man a while to get back to his best since then, but now he looks to be firing on all cylinders once more.

Why Arsenal want Neto

If they can get him for a fair price, Neto would be an exciting addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. His presence in the ranks would certainly relieve some of the pressure on Bukayo Saka in terms of how much football the 22-year-old is required to play.

As a left-footed right winger, Neto is a natural fit for the role Saka plays in this Arsenal side. He would offer genuine back up and competition for the 30-cap England international. This is something that is currently missing from Arteta’s first team group.

Wolves would likely demand a high price for Neto, though. He is one of their star players, and they will be relying on him heavily to try and steer the club clear of a relegation battle this season.
