Arsenal fans all saying the same thing about signing Darwin Nunez from Liverpool, and they’re so right

Ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, Arsenal are now being linked with a shock move for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, a player known for his chaos.

As of now, Mikel Arteta may only have Kai Havertz available as a recognised striker when Arsenal host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Gabriel Jesus is injured, a familiar story of the Brazilian’s time in north London to date.

And unsatisfied with his role as the club’s third-choice striker, Eddie Nkeitah is set to leave Arsenal for Crystal Palace.

Therefore, Nunez’s name has emerged as a potential last minute option, a striker who has only played 18 minutes during Arne Slot’s new regime at Anfield.

How Arsenal fans are reacting to rumours of signing Darwin Nunez from Liverpool

After rumours of Arsenal’s interest emerged on Tuesday evening, the club’s supporters appear extremely excited, believing that Arteta could be the manager to get the best out of Nunez.

Arteta transformed Havertz’s career, rescuing him from his malaise at Chelsea, and Arsenal fans believe the Spaniard can do the same with Nunez.

One fan made the comparison between Havertz and Nunez, saying: “I want. Arteta wanted him before he joined Liverpool. Arsenal play a settled attack which Nunez can thrive in.

“Liverpool play a high paced game in attacks which demands spontaneous finishes hence his big chances missed. Kai is a duel monster, Jesus can cover all front three.”

Another fan shared similar sentiments, simply saying: “Darwin Nunez to Arsenal rumours, eh? Sign me up. I know Mikel Arteta sees what I see.”

Arsenal fans seem unanimous in believing that if Arteta and Edu want Nunez, then the club’s supporters should trust the process.

And among the bold predictions of what Nunez could achieve in north London, another fan said: “Honestly, Arteta will turn Nunez into prime Suarez” – a reminder of Arsene Wenger’s famous £40,000,001 bid.

Darwin Nunez could be a superstar at Arsenal but Viktor Gyokeres is better value

Of course, with those Luis Suarez negotiations in mind, it’s also important to consider how much Nunez would cost Arsenal right now.

Liverpool paid a Nicolas Pepe type sum to sign the Uruguayan, and it would be a big surprise if they sold the striker at a loss.

Therefore, whilst Nunez could be brilliant under Arteta as Arsenal fans are clearly protesting, the club would have to pay a lot of money, a deal that would still be a risk.

It’s hard not to argue that Arsenal should move for Viktor Gyokeres instead, a player who is known for his consistent goalscoring.

Nunez would be a ton of fun in N5, but there’s definitely better value for Arsenal elsewhere.
