Arsenal are being linked with a move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
The Gunners are in the market for a dynamic young wide forward who can play off the left this summer, with Mikel Arteta eager to bolster his squad’s offensive firepower.
Rodrygo has been heavily linked with Arsenal, while the likes of Nico Williams, Jamie Gittens, and Ademola Lookman have all been mooted as potential options.
However, the North Londoners may ultimately look elsewhere for a cut-price deal so they can invest more substantially in other areas of their squad, and Garnacho would fit into this category.

Arsenal fans react to Garnacho transfer interest
According to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, Arsenal are one of two sides following Garnacho’s situation at Manchester United.
Garnacho has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and is expected to leave the north-west club this summer, with the Red Devils willing to sell him for a reduced fee.
The Gunners and Chelsea have expressed interest in the player, much to the dismay of the Arsenal fanbase.
One fan responded to the link on X, writing: “Big no, please don’t.”
Another added: “Arsenal, if you sign Garnacho. [Andrea] Berta, Arteta and the club are finished. We will be seeing empty seats by the end of next season.”
One supporter wrote: “Personal feelings aside, this could rank among Arsenal’s biggest downgrades ever. While Garnacho is a promising talent, given Arsenal’s current level, any link to him seems highly unlikely, and if true, it would reflect serious incompetence. How did we go from Rodrygo to this?”
Meanwhile, another fan asked the question: “It’s not April Fool’s yet. Why am I seeing Garnacho to Arsenal links?”
Alejandro Garnacho wouldn’t be a bad signing for Arsenal
While he’s far from refined, Garnacho is still just 20 and has raw attributes that make him an exciting talent.
The Gunners could certainly do with someone who is more developed and ready to make an instant impact, but securing a quick, skilful ball carrier who is also a goal threat, and just 20, for a cut-price, is far from a disastrous deal.
| Alejandro Garnacho’s Premier League Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 36 |
| Goals | 6 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Shots | 3.44 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.3 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 1.52 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.11 |
| Successful Take-Ons per 90 | 1.07 |
| Progressive Carries per 90 | 5.78 |
As shown by the data above, Garnacho boasts impressive underlying numbers for a player of his age playing in a lower-mid table team last season.
Eager to get shots off and effective at carrying the ball into dangerous areas, there’s a lot to work with.
He’s certainly not the ideal signing for the Gunners, but he’d be a useful addition to make on top of a more established signing.
