Arsenal fans have now been told by journalist Ben Jacobs who is more likely to join the Gunners this summer out of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.

The two strikers have been strongly linked with moves to north London in recent weeks, with Osimhen and Toney both tipped to depart Napoli and Brentford respectively this summer.

With Arsenal in the market for a new leading attacker, either player could be an ideal fit for the Gunners, and transfer insider Jacobs has now given his prediction on who is most likely to join out of Osimhen and Toney.

Jacobs said via GiveMeSport: “It’s a lot of money. I’d be flabbergasted if Arsenal exceeded the amount of money they spent on Declan Rice and that’s probably what it’s going to take to sign Osimhen.

“It’s never great to go head-to-head with Chelsea on a signing and that makes me feel like Arsenal might end up coming away from it. There are other players out there that I think could fit the bill for them.

“At the moment, even Ivan Toney though is being played down to me and people say inside the club that Toney’s not on the radar. We’ll have to wait and see about that because I have heard otherwise. But certainly Arsenal are going to be in the market for a player of that level.”

Arsenal face a huge task this summer in signing a world-class centre-forward who is perfect for Mikel Arteta’s attack, with options few and far between.

Yet despite Jacobs’ comments on Chelsea being the likely favourite for Osimhen, the Napoli superstar remains the best option for Arsenal in their bid to sign a new striker.

Whilst the Nigerian international could cost a club-record fee, the Serie A talisman has shown that he ticks virtually every box Arteta is looking for when it comes to a striker.

And if Arsenal can again qualify for the UEFA Champions League, there’s no reason why the Gunners can’t go out there and break the market once again for a top player, with Osimhen this time the target.
