Arsenal are interested in signing Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid.

The Gunners’ priority is a new striker in the upcoming summer transfer window, but they need another wide player too.

Mikel Arteta needs an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard on the left flank, and they have been linked with plenty of names in recent months.

The most exciting target for Arsenal fans has to be Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Arsenal have no interest in a long saga to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid

Rodrygo is one of the best players at Real Madrid.

The Brazil international doesn’t get the hype that Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior get in attack, but he has produced several magical moments in the iconic shirt of Los Blancos.

There is a chance this summer that Rodrygo could be sold by Real Madrid, and Arsenal are interested in signing him.

Graeme Bailey revealed on TBR Football that Rodrygo has become concerned about his place in the side, which has alerted several top clubs.

The North Londoners are pushing more than any other team, but Bailey has revealed that ‘Arsenal have made it clear that they don’t want to become embroiled in a summer-long saga’.

Speaking exclusively to Arsenal Insider, Bailey added: “Rodrygo has emerged on Arsenal’s radar and Andrea Berta thinks the player is one of the best options for the left-sided role, although he is capable of playing elsewhere.

“Rodrygo doesn’t want a season of being in-and-out – he is going to be a key part of Brazil’s World Cup squad and wants to be playing.”

Arsenal can’t afford to make the same mistake as last season

Arsenal are right not to be interested in an extended saga for Rodrygo.

Yes, the Brazilian would be incredible for the Gunners, but it makes no sense to wait for him and ignore every other target.

Arsenal did that while chasing Nico Williams and Benjamin Sesko last summer, and after it became clear that neither player was going to move, Edu was left without any real options.

That led to the signing of Raheem Sterling on loan on deadline day, which was a disaster, to say the least.

That is why Arsenal should quickly move on to their other targets if they cannot wrap up a deal for Rodrygo in the first month of the transfer window.
