Arsenal’s transfer interest in Ajax star Mohammed Kudus is genuine, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed.

The 22-year-old has now appeared on Arsenal’s radar for a summer move, as they seek out extra cover for Bukayo Saka, and Kudus may appeal to Mikel Arteta given his versatility and age profile.

Kudus is also wanted by Chelsea, and his performances for Ajax have not gone unnoticed by Europe’s top sides.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs claimed that Arsenal hold a very real interest in the Ghanaian and that he is on their list of targets.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

“Arsenal are genuinely interested in Mohammed Kudus, for sure,” he stated.

“First of all, they need to resolve the situation of Thomas Partey, who has interest from Saudi Arabia. Outgoings will be key to understand what Arsenal do next, but Kudus is one player on the list.”

Should Arsenal sign Kudus?

Whilst extra attacking cover might be welcomed, Arsenal currently have a lot of options in attacking areas, with Gabriel Martinelli and Saka as starting options, and Leandro Trossard, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Fabio Vieira all capable of playing out wide.

Kudus could come in as the main backup on the right-hand side, whilst also being able to cover as a central midfielder or even a forward.

Dutch legend Marco van Basten is a huge fan of the player, and even claimed that he is better than Antony, who went to Manchester United for £86m from Ajax last year.

Van Basten stated that he “has much better technique,” whilst also being smarter than the Brazilian.

With 18 goals and seven assists last season, Kudus has shown that he can be decisive in the final third, and he could inject some extra quality into an attack which scored 88 league goals in the previous campaign.
