Arsenal might be concentrating on trying to win a league title and a Champions League trophy but that doesn’t mean the transfer rumour mill stops anytime soon.
The Gunners already have one of the strongest squads in Europe but there is an acceptance among fans and at board level that certain positions can be strengthened.
One of those is on the left-wing, where both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli face uncertain futures.
Anthony Gordon, of course, is a name continually linked with a move to Arsenal.
And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, a move to The Emirates is the most likely of them all when it comes to Premier League clubs.
👀 TRUE or FALSE: Mikel Arteta will become Arsenal’s greatest ever coach if he wins the PL and UCL titles…
Arsenal more likely to sign Anthony Gordon than Liverpool
As we know, there are a host of clubs interested in Gordon and it appears that, at the moment anyway, it is Bayern Munich who are inching ahead.
However, according to Jacobs, Arsenal are still in there, albeit Newcastle need their valuation of over £70m to be met.
“So right now, there’s actually a big gulf in valuation between Newcastle United, 75 million plus, and Bayern Munich, 50, 55. So I have to see how that develops,” Jacobs said.
“But Gordon hasn’t been put off a move to Bayern by the fact that Luis Díaz is there on the left wing and in red-hot form. Arsenal could be a possibility. Liverpool are not there at the moment, despite the fact that they’ve held a historical interest.
“So Bayern feel quite optimistic, but Newcastle, I sense, are going to be quite tough to deal with. Newcastle sources are adamant that if Bayern’s ballpark valuation continues to start with a five or six, there’s no deal to be done.”
With Gordon one of the most in-demand players in Europe right now and Arsenal concentrating on the league and Europe, there is a chance this one slips away.

Ultimately, the Gunners do like Gordon but at over £70m and him coming off the back of a not so brilliant season, there are question marks.
Of course, if he has a good World Cup and shows he can do it on the world stage, then Bayern might be justified in pushing this deal through quickly.
But for now, Arsenal have other things to concentrate on.
