Arsenal are reportedly in the hunt to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
According to Italian publication Calciomercato, Arsenal are interested in securing the services of Benjamin Sesko. Chelsea and AC Milan are also keen on the 20-year-old, who is said to have a price tag of around €50 million – equivalent to £43 million.
There is certainly plenty of excitement around the potential of Sesko. He has previously been described as the “new Erling Haaland.” Given his physicality, pace, and 6’4” frame, it is easy to see where these initial comparisons with the Manchester City superstar have come from.
However, Sesko is not yet the finished article. He has shown flashes of quality for RB Leipzig so far this season, and has bagged six goals across all competitions, but he is not yet a nailed-on starter for the German outfit.

Benjamin Sesko an exciting prospect for Arsenal
It would be a tall order for the Slovenian to come to Arsenal and hit the ground running in the Premier League. However, Mikel Arteta has previously proven that he is not afraid to invest his faith and transfer funds into promising youthful prospects. The likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and William Saliba, amongst others, have all flourished under the guidance of the Spanish coach.
The north London club would also be wise to sign a new striker. Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah have both come in for criticism, and given the Brazilian’s proneness to injury, some extra depth in that part of the pitch would be ideal.
Whether or not Arsenal seriously pursue Sesko in the upcoming winter window remains to be seen, but it is hard not to get excited about what the player might be able to achieve at the club over the course of the coming years if he is brought in.
