Arsenal are reportedly lining up a ‘potential move’ to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.
The north London side have made signing a left-back a priority this month with Oleksandr Zinchenko joining Jurrien Timber out on the treatment table, with Takehiro Tomiyasu away on international duty.
With Jakub Kiwior starting in the left-back role in the last two games, it’s clear that a signing in the position could be a wise move from Arsenal this month.

And according to journalist Simon Phillips, Arsenal have been exploring the possibility of signing Cucurella from Chelsea, with the Spanish international yet to really settle at Stamford Bridge.
Only joining last year in a £60m deal from Brighton & Hove Albion, Cucurella is one of many high-profile signings to fail to make the grade at Chelsea in the Todd Boehly era.
And there’s now a chance that Cucurella could join the likes of David Luiz, Jorginho and Kai Havertz in swapping the blue half of London for the red, with Arsenal now believed to be interested.
Marc Cucurella is the last player Arsenal need this January

With three left-backs unavailable, it’s pretty clear why Arsenal are reportedly interested in adding to the position with Kiwior failing to do much in the role in recent weeks.
Yet given how soon Arteta will have the likes of Zinchenko and Tomiyasu back from injury, splashing out on a left-back might be viewed by many as a waste of funds from Arsenal.
Moreover, spending limited resources on a player like Cucurella is one way to anger supporters, with the Chelsea defender doing little since his move to west London to justify any sort of move to Arsenal.
Indeed, the Spanish international is still attempting to settle at Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino, and the last thing Arsenal need is to move for Cucurella, who will offer little at the Emirates Stadium.
