Yet more reports are emerging that Arsenal could sell Emile Smith Rowe, and Newcastle are the latest team to be linked with a January move.
The 23-year-old has started just one game in all competitions this season, and despite Mikel Arteta labelling him as a key player, his lack of minutes means he is continuing to be linked with an exit.
Newcastle are now reportedly interested in the England International, but given their heavy spending in the summer transfer window, they may not be able to afford the asking price in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Arsenal’s asking price for Emile Smith Rowe
A report from the Northern Echo has now claimed that a figure of around £50m has been suggested as a possible fee for the midfielder, and that Newcastle may be more keen to take him on an initial loan to comply with FFP.
It does feel unlikely that Arsenal would let such a popular player leave for that price, but given his lack of opportunities, nothing can be ruled out just yet.
Arsenal should not sell Smith Rowe

As was the case in the summer when he was linked with Chelsea, a sale of Smith Rowe to a Premier League rival is a deal that Arsenal should not even entertain right now.
As a Hale End academy graduate, Smith Rowe was one of the club’s best players alongside Bukayo Saka before he picked up a long-term injury, with Jamie Carragher describing him as “special.”
His lack of opportunities is frustrating, particularly as he has impressed in his limited appearances so far, and there have been calls to start him in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Selling Smith Rowe to a potential future title contender in Newcastle would be a self-destructive move from Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta now needs to give him a proper chance to shine.
