Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on an EFL wonderkid who this summer has featured in the Copa America.
The Gunners have made the most of two major footballing tournaments happening this off-season, with Arsenal believed to be close to signing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, who was Italy’s breakout star at Euro 2024.
With Turkey fullback Ferdi Kadioglu also rumoured to be a target for Arsenal, the Gunners have clearly been left impressed with a number of players who are turning out good performances for their national teams this summer.
And Arsenal have now seemingly shifted their attention from the Euros to the Copa America.

Arsenal ‘tracking’ Colombia and Watford youngster Yaser Asprilla
According to the Mirror (07/07: p72), Arsenal have joined the race to sign 20-year-old Watford winger and Colombia international Yaser Asprilla, who has caught eye for both club and country in the last 12 months.
Noted as a player with ‘huge potential’, Everton are also believed to be interested in the £15m-rated forward, with Watford expected to sell the youngster this summer having already sold Ismael Kone to Olympique Marseille.
With Arsenal in the market for a forward and a backup to Bukayo Saka, Asprilla could be the player to tick all the right boxes for the Gunners, with the youngster managing 14 goal contributions last season in all competitions.
However, given how much Watford want for the winger and the type of quality Arsenal need in the front-line, Asprilla might not be ready just yet to make the move up to one of the best side’s in the Premier League this summer.

Asprilla needs one more year in the Championship before Premier League move
The Championship has always been a reliable source of incredible talents for Premier League clubs, with Arsenal star Ben White getting his big break after a season out on loan with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
And whilst Asprilla has the potential to one day become a star in the English top-flight, it’s clear that the Colombia international can benefit from an extra year in the Championship and playing as much football as possible.
Under new Watford manager Tom Cleverly, Asprilla could eclipse his numbers from last season and make a real statement as one of the best prospects in the Championship, where a Premier League move could become viable in 2025.
