Arsenal are keeping tabs on PSG winger Ousmane Dembele.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United are monitoring Ousmane Dembele who only joined PSG in the recent summer transfer window.

PSG paid €50 million (equivalent to around £43.5 million) to prise Dembele away from Barcelona in the recent summer transfer window. However, the winger has not been able to hit the ground running in Paris. The French giants could be willing to move the 26-year-old on if he continues to struggle.

There is no doubting Dembele’s raw talent. At his best, the 39-cap France international is electrifying and capable of single-handedly ripping opposition defences apart. However, his best isn’t seen often enough.

Across his six year spell with Barcelona, the forward managed 40 goals in 185 outings and was never able to consistently shine.

Dembele not the right fit for Arsenal

It would be interesting to see Dembele test himself in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta may well back himself to be able to coax the best out of the winger on a regular basis.

However, it would be a risk to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. PSG would want a decent fee for Dembele, and the Gunners already have the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Reiss Nelson on the books at the Emirates Stadium.

Unless Dembele were available on loan or for an absolute bargain fee, it’s hard to pitch this as a smart move for Arsenal to make at this stage. The £335,387-a-week attacker does not fit the recruitment model that the Gunners have had so much recent success with.

Despite the player’s natural ability, he is not the best option for Arsenal to pursue in the transfer market, even if Arteta is seeking someone who can provide genuine competition for Saka’s starting berth.
