One of Arsenal’s biggest priorities this summer will be player sales.

The Gunners have a few players on their books who clearly do not have a future at the Emirates Stadium anymore. Most of them, if not all, will have to be moved on.

The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are all expected to attract interest this summer, but they aren’t the only ones.

Now, Arsenal have received a bid for one of their forgotten players.

Arsenal receive a shock offer for Fabio Vieira from Nottingham Forest

Arsenal signed Fabio Vieira from Porto in the summer of 2022.

The Portuguese midfielder was viewed as a backup for Martin Odegaard at the time, and he did show flashes of his brilliance.

However, Vieira neither managed consistent performances nor did he get enough opportunities from the start under Mikel Arteta.

Now, 780 days since his last appearance for Arsenal, Fussball Transfers have revealed that Nottingham Forest have made a bid to sign the versatile attacking midfielder.

The report claims that an offer worth €28 million (£24m) has been put on the table by the Tricky Trees, which is a huge amount considering that he’ll soon enter the final year of his contract.

Furthermore, it has been claimed that the €22 million option Hamburg had to make his loan permanent has now expired.

It now remains to be seen if the German side, or any other club for that matter, will join the race for his signature in the coming weeks.

Selling Fabio Vieira for £24m would be incredible business

Vieira is a fantastic player – let’s get that straight.

The former Porto man is not the strongest physically, but on the ball, he has all the qualities that you would want from an attacking midfielder.

That makes him a good option for several mid-tier clubs across the continent, including Nottingham Forest, who could lose Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

If the report that the Reds have bid £24 million for Vieira is true, Arsenal should accept the offer without thinking twice.

Selling a player who is clearly out of favour for such a fee when he only has a year left on his contract would be remarkable business.
