Arsenal may not be finished in terms of recruitment this summer, as they have now been linked with a move for an exciting player.
Mikel Arteta’s side have already brought in David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz this summer, but there may be more to come ahead of the transfer deadline on Friday.
90min have now reported that Arsenal, as well as London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, are interested in a loan deal for Barcelona winger Ansu Fati.
The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Xavi, as young sensations Lamine Yamal and Abde Ezzalzouli, as well as Raphinha and Ferran Torres, are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
The report claims that whilst several clubs have registered their interest in the Spain international, they are not wholly convinced that he wants to leave Barcelona, and none of the interest has been formalised yet.
Arsenal do not need Fati
Whilst he is a talented player, Fati has had a difficult year after recovering from long-term injury.

Arsenal’s options at left-wing, his best position, are arguably the strongest of any position within the squad. Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard and Emile Smith Rowe are all strong options, and having a loanee join this roster would be unnecessary at this stage.

Fati was one of the best wonderkids to come through Barcelona’s La Masia academy in years, and until recently was their youngest-ever player to feature in La Liga. He took Lionel Messi’s shirt number when the Argentinian departed two years ago, highlighting just how highly rated he is at the club.
Xavi has described him as “extraordinary,” but it is clear that he has doubts about him this season, but it is unclear whether the rest of the Barcelona hierarchy will agree that letting him leave, even on loan, is the best option.
Even if Fati becomes available, it is not a deal that looks likely for Arsenal, and Arteta is better off sticking with the current options in the squad right now.
