Arsenal should consider making a move for Azzedine Ounahi.
Arsenal have already spent big on reinforcing their midfield contingent this summer, with Declan Rice and Kai Havertz arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
However, given Granit Xhaka’s departure, the age profiles of Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, and Jorginho, and the fact that the Gunners lacked depth in this area last season, there is room for another midfielder in Mikel Arteta’s squad. Azzedine Ounahi would be the perfect option to plug this gap in the Gunners’ squad.
Ounahi currently plies his trade for Marseille, having joined the club following his remarkable performances during the World Cup in Qatar. The 18-cap Morocco international shone in that tournament, and was described as being “absolutely incredible” by Jose Mourinho, as quoted by Goal.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
Ounahi would likely be a relatively affordable option for Arsenal, and at 23-years-old he still has plenty of potential to improve. He has already shown he can thrive on the biggest stage, and would relish the challenge presented by the Premier League.

Ounahi tailor-made for Arteta
The Marseille midfielder was just settling into his new club before a foot injury cut short his campaign last season. Fully-fit and at his best, though, he is an energetic and physically powerful midfielder able to contribute at both ends of the pitch.
He has been scouted by Arsenal before, as reported by Football.London, so Arteta will be well aware of Ounahi’s qualities. The Moroccan is very comfortable on the ball and extremely tactically disciplined. In that sense, he would be an ideal fit for Arteta’s side, who are given very detailed instructions on how to perform their roles in each match.
If Arsenal can find the funds to bring in another body to complement their midfield cohort then Ounahi would be the ideal target to go for.
